Rather than use machine made black mouldings, we prefer to paint mouldings ourselves, giving a more traditional finish.

Four coats of gesso, sanded to finish. Two coats of red bole. Water gild bevel in 23ct gold. Two coats of thin black paint, rubbed through. Finish with waxes to sheen.
